31 Proverbs to Light Your Path Day 4
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:12
Hate-well that word is not allowed in my house. Even about food, because the kids are usually complaining about vegetables or each other. And that is so not cool.
Hatred stirs up conflict
We see this everywhere. Hatred. It seems to be everywhere in society and we see what follows-conflict. It’s one of those facts that is inevitable. If there is hatred there is fighting and conflict. Yes, there is conflict at our supper table when my kids tell me they “hate” that food. Oh yeah.
There. Is. Conflict.
From our society, our culture, to our homes.
Hatred stirs up conflict.
Even if you aren’t vocal about the hatred you may have.
A little yeast spreads through the whole batch of dough. Galatians 5:9
It will affect your life. Every area of your life. And before you know it, you aren’t happy or joyful… about anything.
Those two words.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
Love changes everything.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
This kind of love is thinking of others more than ourselves. And when we do that, we get closer to Jesus. Because He thought of us so much more than Himself. He lived His entire life for us. Then literally gave it up for us.
Talk about thinking of others more than yourselves.
covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:12
When you have love it literally covers everything up. Will you completely agree with someone else? No.
Will you forget?
Will it rear it’s head and you’ll have to purposefully cover up the wrong/hatred later?
But you know what? That is one more step closer to Jesus. He covered over all of our wrongs with His love.
As I look outside today, we are blanketed, literally covered in snow. Tennessee doesn’t get much snow, so it’s a rare sight to have everything completely white.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18
Jesus’ love covers our sins, they are white as snow. Has Jesus covered your sins? If not, check this out.
What do you need to cover up in love today?
A hurtful situation that you can’t seem to forget and that the offender has not apologized?
An irritation by your kids or spouse? (Yeah, I can feel this right now since we have been snowed in since last week. As I’m typing this all 4 kids are right here beside me picking at each other.)
Whatever it may be, blanket it in love.
Challenge: cover up in a blanket and have a prayer time with our Father and use His love to cover up a wrong that you can’t seem to forget.
