I’m drooling over this bell sleeve blouse and pencil skirt. I’ll get back to organizing, today I’m changing it up a bit. One reason is because life happened and I haven’t finished my kitchen yet-don’t give me that look okay? Easter happened this week and I’ve told you before, organizing is work for me and I put it off as long as possible. Another reason is I have to share with you my latest find.

I feel like a million bucks in it.
I look like at least $500
and I paid less than $30 for the entire outfit.
Yep, $30 for this gorgeous bell sleeve top and lace pencil skirt.
You will never guess where I landed this top… wait for it…
Yes, I found the top on Amazon for $16.99
You know I’m all about frugal living with being a stay at home mom and having 4 kids. So my budget for this was tight. And $16.99 for this top-it’s amazing. The quality is stellar, yes, I just used the word stellar. It’s made of polyester and spandex so it has just a little give.
You want to know how high quality this thing is?
Let me just tell you. (Random story that proves it.)
Last weekend we had our Spring Fundraising Banquet. Of course, I had to get all dolled up for it and I chose this outfit. I was in charge of getting the food prepared and serving. So, when it came to “Go Time” we had accidentally put a huge pan of pecans out instead of green beans. Whoops. I don’t know why that would be a problem but anyway… it was chaos. I run into the kitchen (in heels people), I grabbed the pan of green beans. When I did, I literally splashed burning hot green bean juice all over my sleeve along with green beans. Here I am covered in green beans when we are just getting it started. But don’t worry. Moms handle mess like this all the time right? I mean mercy, I didn’t even get out of the house on Easter morning before my 2 year old wiped her snotty nose all over my brand new dress! So covered in beans and juice I get the green beans and pecans switched. What am I to do now? Well desperate times call for desperate measures. I stick my entire arm in the industrial sink under the faucet and get all of that stuff off. Yep. Right there. Just doused my entire right arm. Before the banquet gets going and all. And you know what? No one had any idea that had just happened. Now I did, mercy my right arm was wet the whole banquet and I felt icky-I have a thing with texture. But no one knew that. No one knew that I had just bathed in green beans and green bean juice. I don’t know how, but I didn’t even smell like it. So when I say high quality-trust me. I put it to the test.
And it passed.
The three layers of ruffles make it look dainty, exquisite, and all kinds of other synonyms for chic.
The sizing runs a little on the small side. I am wearing a large. The recommendations said go a size up and I’m a little “picky” when it comes to clothes touching me. I rather be a little on the large fit than on the small. I’m glad I did. It fits perfectly.
I can style it with skinny jeans and shoes like these cute wedge, booties, or ballet flats. Yeah, I don’t have all of these three, but I wish I did 🙂
This pencil skirt makes good use of the natural curves that God, and carrying 4 children, have blessed me with 🙂 Let me tell you something: I have always avoided the pencil skirt. I am pretty curvy so I have been scared of what the pencil skirt might show. Um, hello. It shows the right stuff.
So now that you have NKOTB in your head (I’m sorry. Well, I’m not really. Go ahead, break it down-Oh oh uh-oh! Yes, because I am now jamming as I’m typing this)hit up some Amazon shopping. I did. This is one of my first clothing purchases from Amazon (besides kids’ Halloween costumes) and I’m loving it. Well stink. Now I’m talking in song lyrics and jingles.
Happy Frugal Shopping!
(unless you are broke. Then just say no.)
