It’s August 1. The start of a new month. The school year is just around the corner. And well, to make life interesting and to be out of the mundane, it’s time for a fun new adventure and creating a life of extraordinary purpose I always like to live by the motto:

I am one of those all in people or all out. If anything is worth doing, it’s worth doing with excellence. My Christian walk is like this: Jesus is my Man. I try my best not to be a lukewarm Christian, I like to be sold out to Him.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2
The same with having children.

Go Big or Go Home.
I tried moderation, it was helpful. But, once again it’s the Go Big or Go Home method I like to go with.
This kind of goes with everything in my life. I’m a Big Reader. God has used some of my most recent books I’ve read that have played a role in my Go Big or Go Home: Living a Life of Extraordinary Purpose.
The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson has gone right along with the Go Big or Go Home philosophy of mine. It’s all about Prayer. You want to be stretched in your faith? You want to see how big of a God we serve?
This book did that for me. I went into this a little skeptical though. I was kind of concerned that the goal of this book was to treat God like a Jeanie in a bottle. But far from it. Based on the lesson from Joshua circling Jericho for 7 days and Honi the Circle Maker, this books’ foundation is on being a persistent Pray-er and a Pray-er of big things for Jesus. Check this out:
“one bold prayer can accomplish more than a thousand well-laid plans.” page 68
“God loves showing up in unexpected ways at unexpected times”. page 109
“Nothing honors God more than a big dream that is way beyond our ability to accomplish.”page 43.
This book challenged me to do my own prayer circle. A prayer circle around something so big that only God was the one who could answer it and get the credit for it. I prayed and prayed circles around it. I fasted, I wanted to honor God in the answer to this prayer. And you know what happened?
The answer was no.
He didn’t answer the prayer the way I wanted Him to. Does that make me stop dreaming big? Does that make me stop trusting God and try to do things on my own? No and No. God is my Father. Just the way my Dad would tell me “No” sometimes, even though we were pretty strategic in our asking because he rarely told my twin sister no, he would tell us no sometimes. He wanted what’s best for us.
The same is true of God. He answers yes, no, or maybe. As a dad sometimes tells his kids no, God answers us with a no sometimes. And that’s okay. That doesn’t mean He’s no longer my Dad. That doesn’t mean He doesn’t want what’s best for me. On the contrary. It shows that He loves me because He knows what’s best for me.
This book has challenged my faith.
Go big or go home.
Stretch my faith, stretch my goals in life, stretch my imagination. And that’s what I’m doing. One of my besties texted me this the other day:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
The same power that rose Jesus from the grave is the power that is work within me. I feel like my fingers are on fire right now because if that doesn’t make you excited I don’t know what does!!!!!
God Big or Go Home: Creating a Life of Extraordinary Purpose.
So where does that leave me now? Well, I prayed and prayed about this next opportunity. My husband and I mulled it over. And my heart is so excited about the way God is going to use this next step to minister to women and share His love. (More on that next week in the series). This blog is to minister to women and share God’s love to the world.
That’s what this next dream is going to do as well: I’ve joined Mary Kay as an Independent Beauty Consultant.
Yes, I have. And if you are anything like me, you might have rolled your eyes. Because I remember throughout my life I have. Can I tell you the number of times I have been asked to do this? Really. Like countless times. I’ve been to so many of the parties that I even helped the Mary Kay lady once do her job. Seriously. But, I never ever thought I would do it.
It was my stubborn streak within me.
But now, after this same bestie shared with me the vision and dream of Mary Kay it’s caught on me like wildfire. You know how? It’s not about selling make up (even though this is my make up of choice) but it’s about being a servant and sharing the love of Christ tangibly to other women.
I’ve thought about this alot. My blog, my favorite posts and the ones that most women identify, all about edifying women and helping women.
Mary Kay is known for this, it’s been around forever, it’s top notch and affordable, it’s on my Christmas list (yes, it is. The Time Wise is my absolute favorite thing). Plus, it’s foundation is on faith.
The motto: God first, Family second, Career third.
Boom. Drop the mic.
I get to pamper women, share my favorite products, and share the love of Jesus with them. God’s used it as a no brainer for me. So I’m all in. Go Big or Go Home right? You know that’s what I say 🙂 Oh and check it out! Here is a video of all the goodies I got inside my starter kit!!
